I own a small early-stage (in operation for just over 2 years) car & limousine company based in Dutchess County
I have been searching for development funding for 18 months, unsuccessfully, reaching out to banks, sba's, economic development groups, private equity and venture capital types, and the obligatory friends & family. I have presented my business plan to my local economic development corp for their angel funding group and submitted my business plan and application to my local Office of Social Development for their Economic Development Fund Loan. Both cited today's economy as primary reasons why: the economic development corp is delayed in funding their angel funds group and can not move beyond the due-diligence stage & the OSD denied my loan request.
My goal is to create the largest African American owned car service in the country, with an eye on using the development of the NY market base operation (NY/NJ/CT region) as the model for national growth. My company being a service industry type jobs creation is one of the top priorities, tied along with vechicle (fleet) capacity. I put up my own money (100% invested) to get the company off the ground, with firm expectation to have secured the necessary funding or at least some by this point. Baring that in mind my personal finances have been completely tapped I am working f/t only in my recruitment for funding.
Hopefully you have some suggestions for me, possibly even a professional you know that is an individual investor that would take a look. I have a full business plan and separate proposal for incremental funding to submit and/or present to interested parties.

Look forward to hearing from you.
