Do you need a permit to renovate an existing kitchen by replacing everything exactly as is? Meaning just putting new cabinets and appliances where the present ones exist? No walls are being torn down and no walls are being altered.

All,

Based on your description, I would suggest that you get a permit:  then you know that you are complying within the various codes.  Often when people are updating their kitchen, they upgrade the electrical and plumbing as well.  I not sure where you live but I am sure  that it is a requirement for Coop and Condos.  The best way to determine this though,  is for us to take a look at the job and see what you need to have done, once we meet, we can then discuss the various options.  You can give me a  call or shot me an email to schedule an estimate (free).
