Question abt. using natural hormones for fertility.

I'm working with a Naturopath right now.  This was working well.  My numbers were good.  Abt. a month ago we did an insemination try.  Didn't work.  During that time after insemination, while waiting for fertility test (abt. 2 wks), she had me off the phytoB.  Period started and was off for first 7 days anyway (making 3 total).  After this every time I did a blood test, my est. went a little lower and my fsh was going up.  We think it was being off the natural estrogen for so long in this process.

So, now, what readjustments do we make to get this back in line?  I can't keep going in the wrong direction.  She suggests keeping the dosage the same, but that doesn't seem to be working. What slight readjustments might we do to bring the est. back up and fsh down?

thank you

Natural Hormones and Fertility

If your estrogen levels keep decreasing, and your FSH keeps increasing, even though you are taking a natural estrogen, then it appears to me that your ovaries are not communicating with your hypothalamus.  Your body is not reconizing the product you are taking and the hypothalamus is signaling the pituitary to increase FSH and LH to cause the ovaries to produce estrogen.  (You never mentioned LH, I would assume that it too is increased.)

This usually occurs due to endocrine disruptors which block the communication pathways in the body.  I would first try a different natural estrogen to see if it works.  If not, and you would like to discuss a different approach, e-mail me.  Hope this is helpful.

Sincerely,

Dr. Charles C. Coppola
