Question    posted to Music Instructors on 01/29/10 08:08 PM, Millwood, NY 10546
We are 4 musicians in our family, 3 boys (triplets, 16 yrs. old), playing flute, cello and violine/guitar and myself playing guitar. The boys are rather advanced playing in the high school orchestra and take individual music lessons. I have also been playing guitar for many years (only accoustic).
The boys are playing various classical pieces together as a trio and I join in for traditional Christmas music or a few folk songs.
My interest is now to expand the repertoire of our "orchestra/band" at home and learn new songs of any genre (i.e. folk, pop, rock or also classical). I am therefore looking for a teacher or music coordinator who would be willing to take on this challenge of a) finding suitable (sheet) music for this combination of instruments b) to have the software or sheet music to transpose existing songs written for the various instruments to the same keys and c) to teach, practice and play the music at our home (Millwood area in Westchester).
If you are interested I would like to hear your ideas and a quote for your costs. If not, would you know anyone interested.

Greetings from Westchester,

I am music director (I play piano, guitar and organ)  and would able to help your little band.  I have over 20 years experience as a private music instructor and music director (am currently at St. Peter's in Peekskill) .  I have access to music software that could help - but might not really be necessary (your cello is the only transposing instrument).  I have 6 former students now in college music programs.

The fee would simply be based on a private lesson - $60 per hour.  I would suggest that I work with you on one day a week, then have you all rehearse and see how you've progressed in another week's time.

You may reply to Ms. Wallour at musik2@optonline.net.

Good luck with your quest.
