I have an HP Pavilion dv6500 and it has 2 issues right now. First, the USB ports are not working. I have gone to Device Manager and uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and it still does not work. Any ideas? Second, my webcam did not work properly, so I uninstalled in DM and it did not reinstall the drivers automatically.  I cannot find a system recovery on my Windows Vista to reinstall that way.  Help.
Thanks,
Joseph

If your USB ports do not work I would suspect you need a new logic board.  Before doing this, I would probably try backing up, reformatting the drive and reloading operating system, service packs and drivers in the right order and if still no go, order a new logic board.  Do not purchase a new logic board if you are not sure the software (o/s, updates and drivers) are correct and laid down correctly.
