Hi, there.

This is Hudson Valley Music Academy responding to your questions.

You do not need to own a full size piano in order to take lessons, however you do need some kind of keyboard instrument.  Some keyboards can be purchsed for a modest price and require much less space and maintenanace than a regular piano. You need an instrument on which to practice between lessons.

The lessons HVMA offers are private one-on-one lessons (the best way to learn music).

HVMA teachers come to your home for lessons - no travel is necessary!

Yes, HVMA has a teacher available on Saturdays.

Please check out HVMA website www.hvmusicacademy.org for rates and payment policies.  You may also give us a call toll free at 877-836-5682.

Thanks!

Hi there...

Learning to play on a "real" piano is better, however a decent digital with "piano-like" action

is workable.

My lessons are always one on one.

I am located in Shrub Oak (last exit off the Taconic before Putnam County begins)

Saturday lessons are doable for me.

Please call for rates...

Hello,

I am a congenial, experienced music teacher (piano, guitar and voice).

To answer your questions:

1. I usually travel to the student's home, if they have a piano or keyboard (you can get away with one under $200 to start)

2. OR, you can come to me in Peekskill (10 minutes)

3. You can start without a piano or keyboard, but would want to get something within a few weeks.  You will progress much faster if you can practice at home.

4. I don't teach Saturdays, but some evenings.

5. Lessons are paid monthly, $30/half hour (one lesson per week).  So, for example, a four week month would be $120.00.
