I HAVE OAK FLOORS WHICH HAVE BEEN WAXED WITH PASTE WAX AND ALSO LIQUID WAX. CAN PASTE WAX BE APPLIED OVER LIQUID WAX.

Your floor should be sanded down to the original surface as you have too much build up of the waxes, etc. Is your floor enginerred wood or 3/4 inch solid? If engineered, you can only rescreen it. If 3/4 inch a proper and effective sanding can be done. This can be done economically.

A quick fix would be to get a wax stripping agent, on the shelf at Home Depot / Lowes / lumber yard, and this will help bring back the shine a bit.
