The goal of treatment for tight, stressed muscles is to relax them. This may be accomplished a number of ways. Any type of massage, done in a manner that is sensitive to the patient needs and level of comfort, when done correctly should achieve that end. If the teenager is involved in a lot of sport activities that may be contributing to the stress and tightness in the muscles it is important to be consistent with treatment! Try to balance the level of activity with a treatment protocol that helps the teenager perform the sports comfortably.

My name is Michelle Davidson. I am an Oriental medicine practitioner/acupuncturist at the SawMill Club in Mt. Kisco. I treat many athletes, including teenagers with sport's injuries. I do a combination of treatment modalities, including tui-na, a Chinese massage that employs the use of acupuncture points, deep or superficial tissue massage, myofascial release and much more. I like this type of massage because it affords the patient an acupuncture type treatment via massage. First, an Oriental medicine diagnosis is done by looking at the patient's tongue, eyes, checking the pulses, and asking questions that help us to see a complete picture of the patient's health. Then, the treatment is done based on the information gathered.

I would be happy to discuss other treatment modalities that may be beneficial to your teenager, so please feel free to contact me at: 917-971-4110. Be Well!
