Major cracks in newly laid wood flooring - particularly on stairs. Cracks are in between slats of wood and in slats themselves. Do I need to replace the wood entirely?

By the way you describe it, yes a full replacement would be warranted. Things like what you are describing just do not happen normally! Please call me to discuss. It sounds like there is more to this story. Tom Pagnini, Owner, Hudson Valley Interiors, 845.238.7597.

Hello:

Thanks for your question.  With my more than 30 years in the flooring business,  my best answer is yes, unfortunately, that it seems from your description that the steps needed to be taken in this case are:  removing the wood floor, followed by fixing the floor underneath, and then replacing the wood--I am unsure without an on-site inspection if we would be able to savage the damaged flooring.  We would be happy to provide a free estimate,  Please feel free to contact me at (914) 968-4566 at your earliest convenience.

Good Luck with the repair,
