Hi,

In order to maintain the size of your glutes it is essential that you do regular conditioning exercise to uplift, strengthen and tone this mucle. If you loose weight to quickly without incoporating conditioing movement the muscle may atrophy, droop and become flatter in shape. The key really is to balance cardio, strength, stretch and balance in your routine.

If you want to loose weight the very basic formula is calories in-- calories out-burn more and eat less. It is important to consider the caloric density of food ,(meaning the volume of food/versus the # of calories and nutritious benefit) when you are eating and to follow the reccomended food pryamid and uggestion "no white at night". Stay away from pasta, rice, read, potatoes in the evening. Rather choose a meal that is lean and green, with a small piece of fruit for dessert. In terms of exercise, try 5 min. of basic reverse curls,ab crunches and vertical stretches everyday--start out with 5-10 repititions and then build up to multiple sets of each.

I also suggest cross training and muscle confusion-don't do the same workout daily-mix things up and try different exercises to really build strenght and ability.

Many fitness centers offer a complmntry workout and pt session--take advantage-you will learm proper form and alaignment which is of course, the most important.
