I have an existing retaining wall at my home which is built with brick and I'd like to have it replaced with a stone wall, here are some facts pertaining to the wall:

House is situated on a corner lot

Forty five feet of the wall borders the sidewalk, and twenty feet borders my driveway

The wall is about twelve feet from the house and is currently thirty two inches high.

I spoke to the manager of the New Rochelle bldg. dept. and he said that it needs to be filed and it can be done in a few ways either as a repair or new etc.

I'm also looking to get a ball park estimate on what it would cost to have plans drawn and submitted to get the permit. I have an estimate to have the wall replaced. Please give me a call @ [personal information deleted] if any further info is needed.

P.S. When I spoke to the bldg dept I did not give them the address.

We have extensive experience in stone retaining walls and with the process of permit applications. We can perform the wall work and file the necessary permits. Sometimes the municipality will allow the contractor to submit a plan for their approval, but sometimes they want the plan created by an engineer (depending on the site conditions).

While we don't have an Engineer on staff, we do have a working relationship with Landscape Architects and Engineers if needed.

Please call me at your convenience to set up a no fee site visit so that we can go over your needs and what options are available. In the mean time, visit our website and take a look at some finished projects.

After reviewing your request, it is difficult to give a price for your wall due to many conditions, like the condition of the existing wall(for demo), type of footing for wall, and the type of stone for the new wall.  We have done alot of this type of work in your area and we are very fimilar with the buiding dept. We have been doing this type of work for over ten years. We are fully insured and licensed with Westchester County. If you would like to setup an appointment we can be reached at 914-533-6652 or 914-557-0686.

Thank you for your time,
