It's difficult to say what the insect that you are describing is. The best bet is to have a qualified professional do an inspection to positively identify and develop a course of treatment. It would also be wise to have them look at the possible sources of the mice and develop a treatment plan for them as well. There are many reasonable methods of controlling almost any pest. Give us a call- our inspections are free!

Sorry for the delayed response, I did not see this posting.

But many things can stir up rodent activity, including neighborhood construction, and colder weather. As long as the equipment in your home is properly maintained, there shouldn't be a severe problem. If there is still an issue, perhaps there are entry points that are allowing rodent easy access to the home.

The description of the brown "catapillar" like insect seems to vague, and would need to be identified visually.

JP McHale Pest Management Inc does provide many resources for maintaining a rodent problem. Along with keeping a maintenance record, our trained technicians will always instruct customers when they should schedule follows up and make reccommendations when an field inspector should come out and inspect the home and provide the home owner with an proposal to seal off any entry points, we call this a rodent exclusion.

If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call. Ask for Margaret.
