Question    posted to Home Audio & Theater Dealers on 08/13/08 06:06 PM, Scarsdale, NY 10583
I had a home theatre installed that includes a Pioneer 60" plasma tv, a pioneer elite reciever, a toshiba dvd, surround sound speekers all hooked up to a Directv DVR.  I am getting a pop up on the screen that says "Internal protection curciut turns power off.  Is there a short in speaker cable.  [SD05]".  Then the tv screen turns itself off.  Just the screen.
Please help me, I've contacted everyone I can think of and no one can tell me which component is the problem.

Without seeing how this system is wired, I cannot give you a definitvie answer as to where this on-screen pop-up message is coming from.  If all the video is coming through the Elite Receiver, then it could be coming form the receiver(yes a short in the speaker wiring), thus feeeding no signal to the TV.  The TV could be turning off because most Plasma TV brands have a auto turn off feature that will shut off the TV after no signal has been present for a defined amount of time.  The last Pioneer set we installed was set for a 15 minute shut off time slot(but this is adjustable).

What you really need is a service call to figure out exactly what is going on here and help guide you in the repair.  Feel free to contact our office for an appointment, or you can reach me on my cell number to discuss further.
