The treatment for a pinched nerve in the neck, specifically C7 that creates pain in the shoulder and back is chiropractic care. Chiropractic care focuses on the cause of the problem. With a pinched nerve the misaligned vertebrae and/or disc presses on the nerve which travels to a specific part of the shoulder and back. I would realign the bone and relieve the pressure off the nerve. This is a very common problem I treat in my office. I treat this problem on a daily basis in my office with great success. In my office we can do multiple therapies including heat, ice, electric stimulation, decompression therapy( excellent for this problem.) along with spinal manipulation. All of the above mentioned are painless and will be the quickest recovery.

My name is Dr. Glenn Krieger owner of Sound Sports & Family Chiropractic. My office is in Mamaroneck.  I would be happy to help with your situation. Please mention Zoomnia when you call. My office staff would be happy to assist an appointment for you immediately. Please call 914-698-9283. If you have any questions feel free to call me.

To  Whom it May Concern,

My name is Dr. Akim Jones and I am a physical therapist.  I have been practicing for over five years and have extensive hands on experience with various cervical spine injuries.  As I understand it, you have a pinched nerve at C7 and are experiencing pain in the shoulder and back.  There are many ways to treat such a condition.  I would prefer to perform a thorough evaluation and then possibly proceed with the use of manual techniques to help alleviate your pain.  I can evaluate and treat you at my day spa called Urban Oasis Spa.  The spa is located in White Plains inside the White Plains Mall.  Visit our web site @ www.yoururbanoasis.org for more information.  I can be reached @ 914-831-3214 if you have any questions.  Be well until then.

Dear Scarsdale.

Dear Scarsdale

There are several treatments for a pinched nerve in the neck.  These treatments generally are based upon the cause.  Degenerative disks are best treated by an orthopedist with a spinal specialty or a neuro spinal surgeon.  Don't be afraid since I am saying surgeons,  they will attempt to resolve issues with all conservative care such as PT or injections before they will perform any procedures.

Your pain may also be caused by weakness in the cervical muscles or a misalignment of the cervical spine.  Don not disregard a good chiropractor, they can provide the physical therapy and properly align the bones in your neck.  An ethical chiropractor will not try to "rope you in".  They will provide great home routines that can help.

Acupuncture is also quite useful in may cases.  I am a podiatrist and many of my patients have resolved numerous issues including foot pain.

As  a podiatrist, I also treat many back issues with properly working on gait and foot alignment.

Bottom line, there is not one thing that you can do without knowing the cause.  Seek out professional advice and act accordingly,

Dr John Viscovich

Greetings, Spinal nerves exit the spine between each two vertebra to go to their respective muscles and organs. When a vertebrae is out of its proper alignment and/or the disc (located between each vertebrae) is bulging, it may put pressure on the nerve and most likely result in pain (following the nerve path) and/or organ dysfunction. Pinched nerves can be caused by several reasons. As chiropractors, we help many people with similar conditions in our office and with great results. First, we would review the tests performed to come to this diagnosis followed by an exam and thermography scan. We use many different adjusting techniques with high success rate as well as cold laser therapy (which would be highly beneficial) and myofascial techniques. We are Doctors David and Veronique LaRocco owners of The Greater Wellbeing. We would love the opportunity to see if we can help you.
