I am looking to buy a new TV with surround system. The room I plan on putting it in has a ceiling of about 9 feet and it about 25 by 20 feet wide. I would like to get a 40+ inch plasma TV and surround sound, but I do not know which brand is the best quality. The price is not an issue for me, I just would like to purchase the highest quality brand.

We have been selling and installing plasmas for about 11 years. We have tested all the major brands side by side and at this time we are very happy with the Pioneer Kuro series for it's looks and it's incredible picture quality. For the size of the room you are talking about you can easily use a 60". As far as the rest of the components go we very much like the Yamaha brand of AV receivers. We also carry a full line of all the rest of the equipment you would need.  We would be happy to come to your for a free consultation to discuss your needs.  Feel free to contact to set-up an appoinment or if you would prefer give forward your contact information and I would be happy contact you.

Thanks very much,
Barry

THE HIGHEST QUALITY BRAND NAMES ARE PIONEER; PANASONIC; LG; SAMSUNG; SHARP; TOSHIBA JUST SOME OF THE BETTER QUALITY. AS FAR AS A SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM, THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO GO WITH THIS IDEA.
THE BEST THING TO DO IS TO HAVE US SEE THE ROOM, AND DISCUSS WHAT KIND OF IDEAS YOU HAVE AND THEN WE CAN MAKE OUR RECOMMENDATIONS TO YOU.

Good question, but very vague because a surround system can be as little as a "theater in a box" or a full blown Home Theater.  It really is all about budget and room.  Your room is a great size, but I think you will need a larger screen and you may want to look at floor standing speakers to be able to fill this large area with good sound.  You have lots of choices for this room.  Depending on how much controllable light is in the room, I would suggest a front projection system or a large 65" LCD type of TV set.

If you are stuck on  Plasma technology, I would look at Pioneer Elite(we do not sell this brand, but it is probably the best out there right now as far a Plasma technology goes).  We have recently completed a few projects with the Sharp Aquos 93 series LCD TV's and they are truly exceptional.  The newer 94 series is about to be released and you should check them out as well.  I think  LC-65SE94U will end up being the latest and greatest for the next few months.  Take a look at the link below for more info.

Sharp also make a 46" and 52" screen size in this Special Edition .

For a good surround system we like Denon equipment, but I would need to look at the room to be able to suggest a speaker brand or type.  Your choices could be floor standing, on wall or in-wall/in-ceiling.  Feel free to contact our office for more info or to schedule an appointment for a consultation.  Thanks for your interest.  I can be reached personally on my cell (914)774-5790.
